Berber Villages Sahara tour: With this 6-day Atlas mountain and desert trip, you will enjoy a trek through the Berber villages of the High Atlas mountain and see the landscapes of the Sahara desert. Our trekking options include a 3-day hike over nice mountain passes, walking through Berber villages and long valleys. It also has camel rides in the Sahara Desert, and you can enjoy camel trekking on the sandy dunes of Erg Chebbi at Merzouga.

After breakfast, we leave Marrakech and start our journey from Berber villages and the Sahara desert. We will drive to Imi N’Oughlad to meet our team of muleteers. Once there, we will start preparing for the stage, loading the mules and filling the water bottles. The hike will begin by crossing the village to Tacht at 1900 meters above sea level. The lunch break will take place in the middle of nature, where you can admire the magnificent surrounding landscapes. The next step will be the descent to Tahliouine and Ait Aissa villages. We will be welcomed by a Berber family on site to spend the night with the locals—4 hours of walking. Ascent 400m. Descent 350m.
On the second day, we climb towards Matate Pass (2100m) through the juniper forest. It is an ancestral place of transhumance, and you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Azzden Valley and its magnificent multicoloured spectacle of the surrounding mountains. We will then begin the descent of the Matate Valley, passing through its beautiful villages before going up to the Aguersioual pass. Our accommodation is in Tinaghrine in the heart of the Imnane Valley—6h30 walking. Ascent 800m. Descent 700m.
Early morning, we will leave this fantastic valley of Imnane, passing through the stunning Berber villages around. Nest will continue our trek by following a relatively long path with a panoramic view of Imnane Valley. Then we will cross the Tamatert Pass at 2200 meters above sea level, with the breathtaking landscapes of the Ait Misane valley. We will attack the descent to the village of Imlil at 1750 meters above sea level. Lunch break will be before reaching Armed Village. 5 hours of walking. Ascent 460m. Descent 460m.
Departure from Imlil towards Ouarzazate via the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka at 2260m. We will then take a small road that leads to Ait Ben Haddou, a Ksar classified by UNESCO in 1987 as a universal heritage. We will have our lunch break in Ouarzazate. Then, we will take the road towards Skoura. Skoura is a fascinating oasis lined with immense palm groves that provide stunning panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains, one-thousand palms and Amerhidl Kasbah. We will spend the night in the Kasbah Hotel. Six h drive. 380km
After a typical breakfast, we will drive towards Kelaat M’gouna, the capital of roses. Then we will cross beautiful Berber villages populating Roses Valley. At Tinghir City, we drive into the High Atlas to visit the stunning and famous Todra Gorges. We will continue driving to the Merzouga Sahara desert and its magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. The road will pass through the Ziz Valley, Arfoud palm grove and Rissani town. We will find our camels at the foot of the dunes before starting an hour of camel riding to reach the camp in the middle of Erg Chebbi. You can admire the sunset and its breathtaking colourful spectacle and enjoy seeing the Milky Way in all its glory. A small concert will animate the dinner. Five h drive. 350klm.
At dawn, you will wake up to watch the sunrise and see its colours awaken the sea of sand. After breakfast, we will take the road to Tazzarine, enjoying beautiful mountainous and desert landscapes. Then we will pass through the Draa Valley, one of the most beautiful valleys in southern Morocco. These are earthen villages and the typical green cultures that you can discover.
