5-day Toubkal Merzouga adventure tour

We drive to Imlil early in the morning to meet our mule team. We will start our hike with a nice climb to Aremd Village. Magnificent landscapes of terraced crops, and irrigation canals, then we will pass through Sidi Chemharouch shrine to reach Toubkal hut at 3100 meters above sea level. We will spend the night at Toubkal hut. 5-hour hike.

The ascent of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, is done with minimal difficulties. The leaving time will be made early morning to take advantage of the freshness of the morning. From Toubkal summit (4167m), the view goes far, and it will be possible to see the Siroua Mountains and the plain of Marrakech. We will return to the refuge for lunch and a good mint tea. On the third day, we will leave Imlil by car to go towards Ouarzazate. The road will be through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi N’Tichka pass at 2260m. Then we will take a regional road that leads to Ait Ben Haddou, a Ksar classified by UNESCO in 1987 as a universal heritage. We will stop in Ouarzazate for lunch. Then, we will retake the road toward Kelaat M’gouna, the capital of roses. We will thus cross beautiful Berber villages in Roses and Dades Valley to get to its gorges. Overnight a hotel, 390 km drive.

After a lovely breakfast at the hotel, head for Todra Gorges, one of the most spectacular gorges in Morocco. Then we will continue to Merzouga and Erg Chebbi dunes. We will pass through Ziz Valley and Arfoud palm grove. Before heading towards the mysterious sea of Erg Chebbi dunes, we will pass through Rissani town, the former capital of Tafilalet. The meeting with our camels will be at the foot of the dunes. Then, you take a sunset camel ride to reach the camp in the middle of Erg Chebbi. Local nomads will play the traditional Tam Tam drums. Overnight in the desert camp to experience a magical night under the stars. 280km drive.

We get up early morning to enjoy a sunrise camel ride. After breakfast, head for Tazzarine, enjoying beautiful mountainous and Sahara desert landscapes on the road. We will then pass through Draa Valley. It is one of the most beautiful valleys in southern Morocco. You will explore the earthen Kasbahs and Ksars and the green cultures of this area.
