Morocco desert hiking: Discover the great Sahara Desert with its landscapes, Berber kasbahs, sand dunes, camels and wonderful gorges.
The trip starts from Tazzarine and provide transport from Marrakech to the starting point. Tazzarine longtime considered the gateway to the desert, offers defferent landscapes, green oasis with large desert plateaus.

Arrival in Marrakech and spending the night in the hotel.
After an early breakfast, we’ll head south and traverse the high Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka pass. We then pass Ouarzazate and head to Saghru Massif, we’ll then arrive at the green Draa Valley and its castles. We’ll proceed by driving to the Tamsalt village where we’ll meet the team with camels on standby that’ll accompany us all through the period of the trek. We’ll spend the night camping in tents at a nearby village.
After breakfast in the morning, we’ll trek on a vast plateau of acacia trees, taking accessional breaks under the shade of the trees. We’ll trek to the AitOuazik village where almonds, henna and palm trees are planted. Afterlunch we proceed to discover the rock carvings site dating from 3000BC. Overnight in tents. 5 hours trek.
Early in the morning, we’ll visit the citadel of Ait Ouazik village, then we continue by taking a trail passing through the small gorges. After passing through the gorges we’ll meet a caravan, which is where we’ll have lunch. In the afternoon we arrive to the village of Amrad. Overnight camping near the village in tents. 5 hours walk.
We’ll trek through a large plain, and discover the sand dunes that lead to the Khettaras, which is an ancestral system that used to supply oasis in the area with water. From there we’ll proceed to FoumTiza Dunes. Overnight in tents. 6 hours trek.
After an early breakfast, we’ll begin our trek by heading west to arrive Serdrar (the black mountain) which is where we’ll discover fossils. Lunch in the shade of the palm trees, then proceed to the edge of Tazzarine oasis. We’ll camp overnight in tents. The estimated duration of the trek is 5 hours.
We’ll head back to Marrakech early in the morning after breakfast. We’ll spend the night in the hotel at Marrakech
